Oh, Brother!

Sibling rivalry has been the subject of notable contemporary picture books, including Judith Viorst's I'll Fix Anthony and Judy Blume's The Pain and the Great One. Oh, Brother!, a sequel to Don't Touch My Room, is in the same category. Lakin tells the story through the eyes of older brother Aaron, who has many gripes. He has all the responsibilities; Benji is a crybaby and gets everything he wants. Mom and Dad, who are referred to only as ""they,'' come through with something special for Aaron. After trying to terrorize his younger brother, Aaron now comforts and reassures Benji. Brewster's illustrations include an enviable new bedroom for the boys, with plant and dinosaur wallpaper, and a likable cast of characters. Ages 48. (April)
