Bestseller Reece concludes her Last Chance Rescue trilogy (Sweet Justice, Sweet Revenge) with this entertaining romantic suspense novel. Last Chance Rescue agent Jared Livingston is determined to find his ex-wife’s baby, Misty, who has been kidnapped in Paris. Eventually, Jared meets Mia Ryker, who runs her own rescue business in Chicago. The closed-off Jared isn’t sure that warm, open Mia can do the job, but as the two of them work together to find Misty and investigate an alarming pattern of child abductions, they fall in love, leading to unhappiness when Mia is assigned to go undercover and attract the interest of a very dangerous man. The story moves along quickly, and while a bit more suspense would have helped to balance out the romance-heavy plot, Reece’s engaging writing will keep readers turning the pages. (Jan.)
