This silly but harmless bit of glitz is the collaboration of a Hollywood producer and a scriptwriter. Ruthless and successful producer Lance Burton wants Millennium Studios to give him total control over his sex-in-handcuffs cinematic ``statement.'' Studio exec Nicole Lanford, foreseeing disaster, becomes the target of in-house battles between Bambi Stern and David Beach, each vying for her job. Other Hollywood figures include CEO Ted McGuinness, whose goal is to avoid all conflict and retire wealthy; Kevin Holberstein, Millennium president whose secret will force him to act against Nicole; Carolyn Foster, whose loyalty to Nicole must withstand Bambi's predatory ambitions for her boyfriend; and a cast of assorted agents, bimbos, hangers-on and would-be Hollywood moguls, legitimate and otherwise. Lists of brand names pass for description, and in general the prose is underwhelming (``They were as different as fire and ice.''). Still, it is an amiable mediocrity. (June)
