Carlitos Friolento

PreS-Gr 2-In this very short story, using a vocabulary of only 32 words, readers meet poor Carlitos, who simply can't stay warm. Successive pages present Carlitos's fingers, toes, and so forth brightly pink in the cheery illustrations followed by the question, ""What does Carlitos need to warm him up?"" The surprise answer is not hot chocolate or a warm blanket, but rather a big hug. The simple and direct tale will provide young readers an opportunity to experience reading success, and the illustrations sweetly present the winter setting. Coop Renner, Paul C.
