Prince Harry's First Quiz Book

Sean Hardie. Faber & Faber, $0 (132pp) ISBN 978-0-571-13558-5

The authors of this tongue-in-cheek look at modern Britain are freelance humorists who have been associated with several projects of Not the Nine O'Clock News, a British TV show, and Lloyd is author and coeditor of Spitting Image, another popular British show that is now being broadcast in the U.S. Using maps, essay questions and simple multiple-choice questions, Hardie and Lloyd ask Prince Charles and Princess Diana's oldest child, four-year-old Prince Harry, for example: ""How should you behave toward someone who is calling on you to support their racist views at a moment when your glass is empty and they have the wine bottle?'' ``What reasons can you suggest for British Rail's insistence that each compartment must contain at least one orange-eater.'' ``What can we learn about the life experience of TV producers from the fact that they never show women over 40 having sex?'' The authors have few sacred cows, and while some Americans will be mystified at certain references, other readers, particularly Anglophiles, will enjoy the humor of this book. (March)
