With Open Eyes: Conversations with Matthieu Galey

The conversations recorded here by novelist Yourcenar form a kind of oral autobiography. She tells us that by age 12 she was on equal terms with her father, discussing Greek philosophy and Shakespeare with him. She notes her long-time attraction to Catholic mysticism as well as her interest in Eastern religions, and she discusses current issues.
