Mac’s Christmas Star

Mac the cat, previously seen in The Cat Who Decided and My Cat Mac, is determined to help set things right when his “special friend,” a blonde girl named Catriona, accidentally loses one of the presents she’s going to receive on Christmas. But with the ring stuck high up in the family’s Christmas tree, Mac’s efforts cause destruction (Klaassen’s watercolors show the “Much Decorated Tree” crashing across a full spread, with Mac hanging on for dear life). Despite some upsetting moments for Catriona, all ends well for her, Mac, and her family in a quietly emotional family story set in Edinburgh, Scotland. Ages 3–up. (Oct.)
