Discipleship for Ordinary People

D. Stuart Briscoe. Shaw Books, $8.99 (208pp) ISBN 978-0-87788-176-6

Part of a Christianity in Practice series, this book offers Jesus's first disciples as role models. Briscoe (The Apostles' Creed; Secrets of Spiritual Stamina; etc.) explains the multifaceted significance of what Christian discipleship really means to those who are ``followers of Jesus Christ skillfully disguised as factory workers, bankers, teachers, doctors, etc.'' While those who are fresh in their commitment to Christianity may find this book helpful, those who have been on the path a while may find it rather tedious, as it imparts few suggestions beyond the obvious.
