One, Two, Three

A trio of books makes learning the basics fun. A first counting book that also celebrates modern art, the paper-over-board 1 2 3 by Tom Slaughter features cut-paper images of one bright red apple, two silhouettes of sunglasses on up through 10 apple trees. Bold colors with high contrast highlight familiar objects such as fish, sailboats and beach balls. Slaughter's prints have been exhibited by the Museum of Modern Art and around the world.
