Vincent, a regular on TV's As the World Turns , convinced stars of stage, screen, concert hall and circus to contribute favorite recipes to an overwhelmingly ordinary cookbook. Sylvia Miles presents her hamburger curry; Jeremy Irons cooks up a somnolent mash of potatoes, milk, onions and butter; Maureen McGovern surrenders a signature peanut butter sandwich; Phyllis Diller firmly outlaws pepper from potato salad. Perhaps the most savvy celeb in this fat-yet-slim anthology is Carol Burnett, who simply directs the hungry, whether famous or not, to Wolf's Sixth Avenue Delicatessen in New York City, where presumably no one need dig into ``holiday jello mold'' (choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbett), ``spinach tofu lasagne'' (acrobat Robert Hoshour), ``leg of lamb almost as good-lookin' as mine'' (actress Alyson Reed) or other morsels offered in the collection. Also included are short biographies of contributors. Illustrations not seen by PW. (Aug.)
