Eonia's evil forces are out to kidnap young Prince Shiva from his spaceship, the Elle Ciel. After a failed attempt, Eonia enlists the villain Sherry and the destructive Hell Hounds to go up against Shiva's Angel Troupe. Most of this story revolves around the beautiful and comical Angel Troupe and the various romances and mishaps taking place on board the ship. The only males onboard appear to be the young, lonely prince, who has secluded himself in a shrine, the handsome Captain and a few other shy guys. The Captain seems to be the object of several different girls' affection, but figuring out whom he has eyes for-with each Angel prettier than the next-is tough. The threat of Eonia and the Hell Hounds simmers in the background, but that danger and anxiety is more a teaser than a focus for the story. In fact, when they have the chance, the Hounds just show up, prove they're powerful, then leave before the Angels can respond. The volume ends with Eonia setting a trap and the Elle Ciel about to face impending doom. This lighthearted series is charming and refreshing, although Kanan's big-eyed art is not for those with a low sugar tolerance.
