The fanciful beings that inhabit the island pictured here include ""lamesuelos,"" or floorlickers; ""telefonales,"" or telephoners; ""lloricas,"" or crybabies; and ""peludos,"" or hair balls. While the vocabulary may be a bit challenging for the intended audience, the humorous illustrations will keep children turning the pages. A great classroom read-aloud that lends itself to related creative writing and craft projects.
