Baby's Cradle Book: Beloved Nursery Rhymes

Namm has put together nursery rhymes, songs, lullabies, finger games, action rhymes and a section called Silly Rhymes that includes favorites like ""The Pumpkin Eater,'' ``There Was an Old Woman who Swallowed a Fly'' and ``Table Manners I and II''(starring the Goops). It's a fairly standard selection, and Bettoli has supplied delicate country stencils and flowering vines. But rather than illustrating the book, the borders and pictures just decorate the spaces around the text. As a very basic collection, this one might have been a starting point. Instead, it may well get lost in the stacks of similar books already out there. (1-4)
