My Art Book of Love

This chunky board book presents 35 classic works of (largely Western) art that speak to the experience of love. Gozansky begins each section with a bold phrase (“Love is...” and “Love makes you...”) and pairs images with short descriptions that call back to each expression. The pieces range from overt expressions of familial and romantic love to more abstract art. In a detail from Gustav Klimt’s The Three Ages of Woman, a mother cuddles her child; an untitled Mark Rothko piece contains “the rosiest of reds.” The end section offers additional details about the pieces in this artful meditation on visual portrayals of love.
