) has gathered material on Clooney from all of America's major magazines, from People
to Playboy
, and has tracked Clooney's career from his first commercials through ER
and other television work to his latest films. Since Clooney's been adamant that his career is more important to him than his love affairs, there's not a lot of wiggle room for romance reportage, so Potts has had to think more about Clooney's career arc, his transition from television to movie work and his decision to become known as a politically aware moviemaker. While Potts did not interview Clooney or any of his cohorts, she has crafted a readable if thin account of his career, complete with a filmography of his work and a listing of his personal “top 100” favorite films.
