Who Am I?—Bible Friends

Christian parents who want to help their youngest children begin to engage with the Bible have a resource in this sturdy peek-a-boo board book. On half the spread, a toddler is depicted asking, “Who is it?” The answer is found by lifting the flap opposite. There, an animal from a Bible story is depicted, and beneath the flap, the character associated with that animal. (Jonah, for example, is beneath the board depicting a whale.) Simple, repetitive language, hands-on interactivity, and visual simplicity make for an easy lesson for toddlers. The blue-green-yellow color palette used by illustrator Byrne is both cheerful and soothing. Ages 1–3. (Feb.)
