Amazon U.K. has launched Kindle Unlimited, Amazon’s e-book subscription service, in the U.K. today with a 30-day free trial. The service provides unlimited access to e-books and audiobooks for £7.99 per month.

Much like the North American version of Kindle Unlmited, the UK launch of the e-book subscription service will provide access to 650,000 titles including bestselling titles from major and small publishers as well as hundreds of thousands of self-published titles via Kindle Exclusives. There’s access to Kindle Short Reads as well as unlimited access to more than 2,000 audiobooks from Amazon subsidiary Audible.com (the service also allows readers to switch between reading a title and listening to it).

Citing the benefits of never having “to think twice about what book you want to read,” Jorrit Van der Meulen, v-p, Kindle EU, hailed the launch of Kindle Unlimited in the U.S. and said, “we’re delighted to offer the same freedom to our customers in the U.K".
