Krestyna Lypen has joined Algonquin Young Readers in the new position of associate editor. She was most recently associate editor of children's books for Workman Publishing.

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing has two promotions. Ellen Grafton has been promoted to associate managing editor/digital; she was formerly assistant managing editor. Katherine Devendorf has been promoted to managing editor for Simon Pulse and Aladdin; she was associate managing editor.

Random House Children's Books has two new hires. Kate Sullivan will join Delacorte Press as senior editor as of May 5; she was an editor at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, where she edited, among other authors, Gail Carriger, Malinda Lo, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Cornelia Funke, and Darren Shan. Ashley Woodfolk has joined the children's marketing department as assistant marketing manager for trade. She was previously assistant marketing manager in the Random House Publishing Group.

Penguin Young Readers Group has two promotions. Gillian Levinson has been promoted to editor at Razorbill; she was previously associate editor. Among the books she has worked on: the Across the Universe trilogy by Beth Revis, Colin Fischer by Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz; The Fantastic Family Whipple by Matthew Ward; and most recently, An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. Marisa Russell has been promoted to associate director of publicity; she was formerly publicity manager. Campaigns she has worked on include the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu, Half Bad by Sally Green, The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, and the Otis picture books by Loren Long.

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing has three promotions. Matt Pantoliano has been promoted to associate director of digital marketing; he was formerly senior digital marketing manager. He has worked on digital campaigns for Cassandra Clare, Tony DiTerlizzi, Brandon Mull, and Dork Diaries, among others. Tamika Brown has been named production manager for Little Simon and Simon Spotlight backlist and frontlist; she was formerly production supervisor. Heather Faulls has been named production supervisor for Little Simon and Simon Spotlight; she was formerly production associate.

Simon & Schuster has three promotions and one new hire. Christina Pecorale has been promoted to senior director of children’s sales; previously she was director of national accounts. Carolyn Swerdloff has been promoted to assistant marketing director for Aladdin Books and Simon Pulse; she was formerly marketing manager. Candace Greene has joined the education and library marketing group as marketing manager; previously she was assistant marketing manager for author events and trade conventions at Scholastic. And Anthony Parisi has been promoted to associate marketing manager, education and library; he was previously marketing associate.

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing has three job moves. Regis Holman has been promoted to production associate, from production assistant, and will continue to work with backlist production. Production associate Kara Reilly will now be working on Aladdin frontlist, and will also handle Pulse and Beyond Words backlist. And Sarah Kwak has been hired as production assistant.

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing has named Mary Marotta deputy publisher for Aladdin Books, Little Simon, Simon Pulse, and Simon Spotlight, as of May 5. She was formerly v-p and director of children's sales.

Connie Hsu is joining Roaring Brook Press as senior editor, as of April 21; previously she was senior editor at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.

Random House Children's Books has two new hires. Ray Shappell joins the KDD art group as a designer working with the Crown, Delacorte, Knopf, and Wendy Lamb imprints; he was previously a senior designer at HarperCollins. Jillian Vandall joins the company as publicist; she was previously associate publicist at S&S.

Tina McIntyre has been promoted to the newly created role of executive director, strategic planning and digital publisher for Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. She was previously executive director, digital publishing and operations.

Bethany Strout has been promoted to associate editor at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers; she was previously assistant editor.

Nick Elliot has been promoted to marketing coordinator at Simon & Schuster; he was previously marketing assistant.

Matthew Baldacci has been named v-p of marketing for Scholastic Trade, as of April 28. Most recently he was associate publisher, marketing and sales operations at St. Martin’s Press. He will oversee marketing and brand strategy for all imprints of the trade division.

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has two promotions. Melanie Chang has been promoted to the newly created role of v-p, integrated marketing. She was previously v-p and executive director, publicity and communications. Allegra Green has been promoted to marketing operations coordinator; she was previously marketing assistant.

Bloomsbury Children's Books has two promotions. Erica Barmash has been promoted to director of children's trade and digital marketing. Melissa Kavonic has been promoted to executive managing editor.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers has one new hire and one promotion. Elizabeth Bewley will join the company as executive editor, as of April 14, and will be based in the New York office. She was previously senior editor at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Taylor Foley has been promoted to digital product manager; she was previously lead project coordinator.

Grace Kendall is joining Farrar, Straus and Giroux Books for Young Readers on April 7 as an editor. Previously she was an associate editor at Scholastic.
