Throngs of YA fans descended on St. Edward's University in Austin, Tex. on October 18 for the annual Texas Teen Book Festival. Now in its sixth year, the festival has grown considerably, with more than 4000 fans and 29 YA authors attending this year's show. Speakers included James Dashner (The Maze Runner), Scott Westerfeld (Afterworlds), Andrew Smith (100 Sideways Miles), A.S. King (Glory O'Brien's History of the Future), and Lauren Oliver (Panic). In addition, the festival featured a number of writing workshops that gave aspiring writers a chance to learn from local and established authors.
