Nonprofit organization We Need Diverse Books has teamed up with Scholastic Reading Clubs to distribute a flyer to over 100,000 classrooms and 2.5 million students, promoting a list of 75 frontlist and backlist titles for fourth- to eighth-grade classrooms.

According to Scholastic, the flyer will contain “a wide variety of titles highlighting important themes about race and ethnicity, multiculturalism, different religions, LGBTQ stories, individuals with disabilities and more,” to classrooms throughout the fall, to land before the holiday season. The flyer also includes quotes from authors including Gene Luen Yang, Jacqueline Woodson, Cece Bell, and more, as well as promotions on the fiction and nonfiction titles promoted therein.

“The goal of this offer,” said Scholastic Reading Club editorial director Ann Marie Wong in a release, “is to reflect the world as it is: filled with stories and experiences as diverse as you find in American classrooms today.”
