Madeline Miller, winner of the Women's Prize for Fiction (formerly the Orange Prize) for her novel The Song of Achilles, will be releasing an e-book original short story on Aug. 13 with HarperCollins titled Galatea, priced at $2.99. Published in the U.K. by Bloomsbury, also as an e-book original, on July 4, the story is a retelling of Pygmalion. In the short, Miller re-imagines the myth which informed George Bernard Shaw's play of the same name and the musical My Fair Lady, writing it instead from the perspective of Galatea, the woman Pygmalion carved out of stone in the original fable.
