In separate announcements, Nickelodeon Publishing and Blue Apple Books reached agreements to make their children’s titles available for sale through e-book retailer Kobo. Through the agreement with Nickelodeon, Kobo will have access to 250 of the publisher's titles. Blue Apple, meanwhile, will make 20 of its titles available exclusively through Kobo for the next six months.

The deal with Nickelodeon will give Kobo’s consumers access to such brand name series as Dora The Explorer, SpongeBob Squarepants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Through the deal with Blue Apple, which will see those 20 titles available in e-book format for the first time, Kobo will start retailing such works as Bear in Underwear and How the Meteorite Got to the Museum.

Michael Tamblyn, Kobo president and chief content officer, hailed the Nickelodeon deal, praising the publisher for "a strong history of igniting the imaginations of children and creating characters that become like favourite friends." Antonia Fowler, Kobo merchandiser for children’s books, called the exclusive Blue Apple agreement "a great addition to our growing catalog of kids’ books."
