Mindy Kaling, star of the Fox series The Mindy Project, will join her former Office co-star B.J. Novak on stage to kick off the second annual BookCon on May 30.

ReedPop, the producer of BookCon, the consumer extension of BookExpo America, said the two stars will discuss Kaling’s second book, Why Not Me? (Crown, September), the follow-up to her 2011 bestseller Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns).

“As witnessed by the success of their books and on-screen work, Mindy and B.J. are two of the most inventive and original comedic minds in Hollywood,” said Brien McDonald, show manager of BookCon. “Kicking off BookCon with their witty exchanges will be an unforgettable moment for fans to experience and set the stage for the rest of our programming perfectly.”

Novak is the author of two books: the adult title One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories (Knopf), and the bestselling children's title The Book With No Pictures (Dial/Penguin).

Novak and Kaling join the previously announced BookCon roster, including Julianne Moore, Nick Offerman, John Hodgman, Taye Diggs, Rainbow Rowell, Mamrie Hart, Meg Cabot, Jodi Picoult, Jacqueline Woodson, Sherman Alexie and David Levithan.
