Maya Banks has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Penguin's Berkley imprint, agreeing to write a new erotic trilogy. Kimberly Whalen at Trident Media Group brokered the North American rights deal with Berkley's Cindy Hwang. Through the deal, Penguin will release each title in the trilogy, simultaneously, in print and digital.

Banks's Breathless trilogy has been a major hit for Penguin; the publisher said that the first two books in the series, Rush (which came out in Feburary) and Fever (which came out in April), have sold over 1 million copies combined. The new series, Berkley said, will be set in Houston and follow a tight knit group of friends, exploring their "tragedies and triumphs as well as their darkest fears and secrets."
