11/12 Charles Burns, Adrian Tomine and Chris Ware Event in Toronto, Canada
The Beguiling, Toronto's most acclaimed comics shop, will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special live event showcasing Charles Burns, Adrian Tomine and Chris Ware on Monday, November 12. Using a special audio visual presentation, the three comics creators will show and discuss their most recent works – The Hive, New York Drawings and Building Stories respectively. The event will take place at nearby Bloor Hot Docs Cinema from 8:30 – 10:30 p.m., and admission will be $25 to the general public but free of charge to audience members purchase any of their works at The Beguiling before the show. Bloor Hot Docs Cinema is located at 506 Bloor Street West, Toronto.
11/14 Garth Ennis Signs "The Boys" Final Issue in Chicago, IL
Eisner-winning comics creator Garth Ennis will appear at Midtown Comics Times Square at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14 to sign the last issue of his comic The Boys. The Boys is a critically acclaimed, profanely humorous series about the dark underbelly of the superhero world. The event is free to all members of the public who have purchased a copy of The Boys issue 72. The Times Square Midtown Comics is located at 200 W. 40th Street, Second Floor, New York, New York.
11/27 Ellen Forney "Marbles" Discussion & Signing in San Francisco, CA
Independent comics creator Ellen Forney will appear at The Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27 to discuss and sign her new book Marbles. The event is free to the public. The Cartoon Art Museum is located at 655 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA.
12/1 "My Little Pony" Comic Release Party with Katie Cook & Andy Price in Anaheim, CA
Comics creators Katie Cook and Andy Price will be celebrating the release of the first issues of his new hotly anticipated comic My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic with a party at Beach Ball Comics in Anaheim at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 1. Based on the hit cartoon created by Lauren Faust , the new IDW comic is about the epic adventures of a group of brightly colored ponies in a world where friendship is literally magic.
