Eisner-winning comics creator Mike Mignola will appear at an art exhibit and signing celebrating his return to Hellboy, the character he created, and showcasing his art on Hellboy in Hell in Portland, Oregon. Mignola created the hit Darkhorse character and comic, but has not done full art on an ongoing issue since 2001 until now. Mignola will be signing Hellboy in Hell #1, the first issue of a new story arc in which the title character is dead and exploring Hell. The event runs from 7-10 p.m. on December 15 at the Things From Another World Portland store located at 2916 NE Broadway, Portland, OR. This is a free all-ages event open to the general public, and free refreshments will be provided.
David Petersen, creator, writer and artist of the Eisner-winning Mouse Guard series, will appear at Titan Comics in Dallas. From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday, 12/19, he will be signing and discussing his work. The event is open to fans of all ages and free to the public. Veteran comics creator Darick Robertson, artist on Transmetropolitan and The Boys, is holding a signing at Illusive Comics in Santa Clara from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20. Robertson will be signing his new comic miniseries Happy! which sold out of its first printing while still in preorders. Co-created with Grant Morrison, the new Image comic is about an unlucky hitman and a little blue horse named Happy. Copies of the book will be available for purchase, and everyone receiving an autograph will get a complimentary free sketch from Robertson. Supervised autographs are $38, including shipping to the CGC, and will be witnessed so that signed books can be submitted and graded by the CGC.
