11/13: FIQ International Comics Festival in Belo Horizonte, Brazil

The 8th International Comics Festival of Belo Horizonte - FIQ, Brazil's largest comic convention (sponsored by the Municipal Foundation of Culture) is taking place from November 13-17 in Sawmill Souza Pinto in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. With over 85 distinguished guests from all over Brazil and the world, FIQ is overflowing with comics and enthusiasm for what has been called the "ninth art." Programming includes interactive panels, cosplay, live studio spaces, a "play exhibition" of comics, artist exhibitions, performances and more. Comics guests include Ivan Reis, Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon, Eduardo Risso, Becky Cloonan, Eddy Barrows, Geoff Johns, Dave Johnson, Rafael Albuquerue, George Pérez, Klaus Janson and more. 11/14: Dare2Draw at ADC in New York, NY

Blue Hive Studios presents Dare2Draw, a monthly non-profit program aimed at encouraging artistic collaboration between professional and amateur cartoonists on Thursday, November 14th from 6-10 p.m. at the Art Directors Club in New York, NY. In addition to live model drawing sessions, Dare2Draw also has contests, demos, artist Q&As, open bar and more. Special guests this month are Bill Sienkiewicz, Amy Reeder and Shane Davis. 11/14-17: The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum Grand Opening Festival of Cartoon Art in Columbus, OH

Celebrate the 2013 Grand Opening Festival of Cartoon Art for the The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum at its new expanded location from November 14th-17th at the The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum at The Ohio State University and the Wexner Center in Columbus, OH. Established in 1977, the The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum has been collecting and exhibiting original cartoon art and promotes illustration and comic art with a historical and cultural purview. Held triennially since 1983, the Festival of Cartoon Art draws participants from around the world for a multi-day event with exhibitions, panels, screenings, seminars and more. This year's guests include Paul Pope, Jeff Smith, Gilbert and Jaime Hernandez, Matt Bors, Eddie Campbell, Kazu Kibuishi and more.
