Elizabeth Krych has been promoted to senior production editor; she was previously production editor. Walter Olalekan has been promoted to associate director, finance and inventory management; he was previously business manager, finance. Jennifer Buno has been promoted to assistant manager, sales planning; she was previously senior sales analyst. And Sophia Pestun is re-joining the division as senior financial analyst.

Random House Children's Books has three promotions. Cathy Goldsmith has been named president and publisher of Beginner Books and the Dr. Seuss publishing program. She follows in the footsteps of Theodor Seuss Geisel, who was president of Beginner Books from 1957 until his death in 1991. Goldsmith, who worked with Geisel on his last six books, has been at Random House for 38 years, most recently as v-p, associate publishing director, and art director for the Random House, Golden Books and Doubleday Young Readers imprints. In Random House's publicity department, Aisha Cloud has been promoted to publicity manager, from senior publicist. Jillian Vandall has been promoted to senior publicist, from publicist.

Tracy Mack has been named v-p, publisher, Scholastic Inc.; she was previously executive editor. Charisse Meloto has been named v-p, publicity brand strategy; she was previously executive director. Suzanne Lagasa has joined the company as senior designer; she was previously at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has two new hires. Jen Keenan will join as senior designer on October 26. She was most recently a freelance art director and illustrator. Elisabeth Ferrari has joined as publicity assistant.
