Following the shareholder vote that replaced Quarto Group cofounder and chief executive Laurence Orbach with Tim Chadwick, Quarto president and COO Marcus Leaver sent a letter to employees and other Quarto stakeholders urging all parties to unite behind him and the senior management team “as we seek to put this bruising and very public encounter behind us.”

Leaver said he plans to meet with Chadwick to get his ideas for moving the publisher forward and will listen to the ideas of all other stakeholders as well as he tours the company’s offices to outline his vision for Quarto. That vision, Leaver said, pictures a company “that will focus on the best elements of its businesses and reshape accordingly for the future.” Moving forward, Leaver noted, he will continue to work in “harmony” with Quarto’s CFO Mick Mousley.

Leaver’s letter began by thanking Orbach for his 36 years at Quarto where his “vision, drive and vigor” created a company that now “employs hundreds of people and publishes thousands of books.”
