As publishers continue to tinker with the publishing cycle of books in the digital age, the Random House Publishing Group has decided to decentralize the publication of its trade paperbacks. In a note to RHPG employees, president and publisher Gina Centrello said that, going forward, the division’s trade paperbacks, “will now be managed by the individual publishers and imprints, allowing each title’s original publication team to focus on and publish the book through its full life cycle: hardcover eBook, and paperback.”

Until now, all RHPG trade paperbacks had been published under the direction of Jane von Mehren, senior v-p, publisher, trade paperbacks. With the new alignment von Mehren, who took over the trade paperback program in 2005, is leaving the company.
