Archipelago Books announced it met its $20,000 Kickstarter goal to fund the printing costs for a special hardcover edition of My Struggle: Book One by Karl Ove Knausgaard, to be released next June.

Dubbed by the publisher as a "Proustian masterpiece," My Struggle is the Norwegian author's exploration of his family life. The work, 3,600 pages in total, is divided into six volumes, and translated from Norweigan by Don Bartlett. Archipelago released its initial trade paperback edition of Book One in 2012, and is publishing the remainder of the series as trade cloth editions. Book Two went on sale last May, which Farrar, Straus & Giroux reissued in paperback.

"As a small not-for-profit press, we rely on your involvement to publish essential works of international literature," said the publisher in an e-mail about the campaign, which launched on September 20.

Archipelago is offering signed books, tote bags, and e-books as an incentive for donating to the campaign, which will run until October 20.
