Egmont Selling U.S. Division
Danish publishing giant Egmont Publishing has announced that it is looking to sell its American division, Egmont USA. Egmont said it is selling the unit because it wants to focus its future investments in countries where it can be among the largest publishers.
HC Offering Authors Direct Sale Option
HarperCollins, which has been ramping up its direct sales efforts, is getting its authors in on the action. The publisher is offering a 10% higher royalty rate on all titles authors sell direct, using an HC buy button that they can place on their personal websites. The higher royalty applies to print, e-book, and physical audio products.
Skyhorse, Perseus Get Good Books
Skyhorse Publishing has completed its purchase of the Good Books assets in a bankruptcy auction. Following the purchase of the assets, Skyhorse sold the Mayo Clinic line to Perseus Books Group. The sales order was approved by the court October 1.
