In the run-up to BookExpo America, publishers are busy planning their events, deciding which books to feature at their booths, and rounding up authors to bring for signings and appearances. Though a number of religion publishers have abandoned BEA in favor of the smaller, religion-specialty shows (feeling they are more cost-effective and productive), many religion/spirituality houses will be there. And of course some of the biggest publishers—HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Random House—have religion imprints or divisions whose books and authors will be a part of the rich buffet next month in New York City. Bon appétit.
