Description | ABRAMS is seeking a detail-oriented individual, with strong knowledge and experience in the culinary arts and national food scene, to acquire, develop and edit a dynamic list of cookbooks for the Stewart, Tabori & Chang imprint. Individual will be responsible for acquiring, developing and editing 6 to 8 cookbooks per year that will make a strong impact in the marketplace; take overall responsibility for concept, content and author and photographer relationships including seeing new titles through all stages of editing, managing schedules, collaborating with design and production; preparing sales materials including fact sheets and catalog copy; and presenting cookbook titles at sales conferences and other key internal meetings. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree; 8 to 10 years’ experience in an editorial capacity at an adult trade publishing house with a focus on illustrated cookbooks, strong acquisitions, proven sales record, keen understanding of the marketplace and innovative product development skills in the cookbook category; excellent writing and verbal communication skills and a strong knowledge of social media and cooking blogs; ability to work on several projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and nurture relationships with authors. |
