Description
ABRAMS is seeking a detail-oriented individual, with innovative product development skills in the area of comics and middle grade and young adult graphic fiction, to be responsible for editing and project managing 7 - 10 titles per season. Individual will be responsible for acquiring strong titles for the ComicArts list and graphic novels for Amulet Books, a young adult and middle grade fiction list; working with authors, illustrators, photographers and agents in an editorial capacity; seeing titles through all stages of the editing process; successfully negotiating contracts; creating and processing P&Ls; managing book schedules; collaborating with the Editorial Director, managing editorial and the design and production teams on design and format of publications; preparing sales materials including fact sheets, catalog copy, and presentations for sales conferences.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree; 5 - 10 years' editorial publishing experience; excellent writing and communication skills; established relationships in publishing and the comics market and the ability to bring important projects to the list; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines; team player. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to create and maintain simple databases. PowerPoint and InDesign skills a plus.
