We are willing to train you on all aspects of the position. No technical skills are required, but it is important that you are comfortable working with computers and have the capacity to learn new software quickly. We are looking for someone who is a quick learner, adaptable, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously. Most importantly, you should have an interest in online publishing, education, bringing technology into the classroom, and be comfortable working with foreign languages.

Responsibilities

* Become proficient in overall online book conversion process through project completion and publishing. Tasks include, but are not limited to: book setup, downloading/uploading files, creating HTML pages, specifying each interactive component through internal workstation and testing functionality of online books.
* Collaborate with other Production Associates and Editors on assignments and projects.
* Master our in-house tools and Quia Books product to ensure quality products and processes.
* Work in a team environment to evaluate guidelines and document new processes to improve book development methods.
* Learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and Photoshop and how to apply them to our online books.
* Contribute to various research and design projects related to online books and educational technology, as needed.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree (Humanities/Liberal Arts majors encouraged to apply—recommended majors include, but are not limited to: Education, Instructional Technology, Linguistics, Sociology, Psychology, English, Business, Spanish, French, Italian, German).
* Able to prioritize and apply time-management skills.
* Comfortable with meeting aggressive deadlines.
* Able to learn quickly and master guidelines and software.
* Have exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
* An effective communicator and team player.
* Comfortable working with foreign languages; familiarity with Spanish is a plus.
* Basic understanding of HTML and CSS is a plus.
* Prior proofreading/editing experience is a plus.
* Open to new experiences and seeking opportunities for professional development.
