Tasks and requirements:

The Senior Sales Manager will work with the Vice President of Sales and Distribution to proactively develop and expand existing business across all market channels in in the USA and Canada. Specific responsibilities include:

- day-to-day contact with key accounts, including concept stores, fashion stores, chain and department stores, furniture showrooms, home decor stores, museums, and bookstores.
- Negotiate deals to close and expand business with an understanding of Assouline program, discounts and practices.
- Research, report and follow up on new channels / markets / customers. Indentify and report new market segments and opportunities.
- Implement development of marketing initiatives and programs, including email communications to clientele.
- Liaise with independent commission groups to facilitate and expand sales and identify new opportunities in assigned territories.
- Oversee work of account manager and intern to develop new business and service existing account base.
- Maintain and analyze sales data on SalesForce.com.
- Provide customer feedback to the Assouline organization as needed.
- Work in tandem with Vice President of Sales to set and achieve monthly and annual sales goals.

Skills/Experience required:
- 5-8 years experience in the publishing industry with strong account management and sales experience required.
- Must excel at building relationships and have great problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with the arts and fashion industry a plus.
