Description
Collaboratively develop and successfully implement advertising programs for print and digital products while inspiring an efficient, effective sales force culture aligned with Publishing and club values. Apply best practices for traditional and new media ad product development and sales management in the travel vertical to attain budgetary goals and sustain AAA’s information distribution business.

Relationship of Job to Management

This position reports to the Vice President, Publishing & Travel Information.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position manages outside and inside sales teams in a structure the incumbent will help to design. Multiple direct reports commensurate with a director-level position at AAA.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Recruit, train, manage, inspire and motivate the sales force to grow the revenue base while reflecting the values of the organization and achieving budget goals and expense targets. (40%)
2. In collaboration with other Publishing stakeholders, design advertising strategies, products and pricing for print and digital products consistent with brand objectives and annual revenue targets. (30%)
3. Develop targeted, effective marketing campaigns in support of brand and ad strategy/goals. (10%)
4. Regularly engage customer base to ensure understanding of industry perspective, goals and needs to keep advertising products current and desirable. (10%)
5. Supports the success of other Publishing work teams by respecting deadlines, simplifying business and sales rules to the greatest extent possible, and honoring the appropriate separation between advertising and editorial. (10%)
6. Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; MBA a plus.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience with increasing responsibility managing sales teams in print and digital media advertising, preferably in the travel sector.
• Extensive understanding of, and contacts and relationships within the hospitality industry highly desired.
• Broad understanding of and contacts and relationships within the consumer products industry highly desired.
• Experience with developing roles and responsibilities for a large account management team.
• Strong public speaking, presentation and training skills, in person and using latest technology sales tools.
• Demonstrated sales reporting, forecasting and budgeting mandatory.
• Collaboration and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to design marketing campaigns supporting sales objectives.
