Richard Carlson's Don't Sweat the Small Stuff takes the lead spot on PW's trade paperback list, a position almost always dominated by one of Oprah's picks. Published in January with a first printing of 40,000, the book has gone back to press 14 times (total copies in print: 807,500), and Carlson's July 8 appearance on the Today show and a USA Today July 7 feature are propelling sales. Hyperion also notes that the author has done a number of nationwide radio interviews by phone from his home in California.

On the other hand, another author, James Lee Burke, won't be home for a while. He'll be doing a 30-city car tour for his new hardcover hit, Cimarron Rose (one of the five new fictions simmering right below PW's top 15) and for Cadillac Jukebox (which landed on PW's paperback list at position #14). Burke's trip begins July 25 in Denver and will finish up on August 29 in Minneapolis, with 20 additional stops along the way. First printing for Cimarron was set at 100,000 copies; for Cadillac Jukebox, 325,000.
