Publishers Weekly Bestsellers

Hello, Dalai
Daisy Maryles, with Dick Donahue -- 10/27/97
Jeremy Tarcher's latest bestseller is the Pitts. That's Brad Pitt, whose starring role in the movie Seven Years in Tibet has helped propel the paperback tie-in into its seventh printing, with 125,000 copies in print (a limited edition hardover is also available). Heinrich Harrer's book, which debuted last week on our trade paper list, centers around a 1939 mountaineering effort that turned into an adventure of a totally different sort. The author's sequel, Return to Tibet, will be published by Tarcher early next year, to be followed in the fall by White Spider, Harrer's account of the first succesful climb of the Swiss Eiger.
