Lennertz Moving to Little, Brown
-- 2/9/98
Carl Lennertz, who has been a fixture at Random House for nearly 18 years, will join Little, Brown February 23 as associate publisher and director of marketing and advertising. For the last six years, Lennertz has been part of the Knopf publishing group where he had been marketing director and a divisional vice-president. He succeeds Amy Rhodes, who resigned, and will report directly to LB publisher Sarah Crichton.
Commenting on his job change, Lennertz said it was "extremely hard" to leave a place where he had so many friends and teachers, but felt that at "mid-life and mid-career I needed a kick in the pants to try new things at a new place. My luck continues. By going to Little, Brown, I go to a house with so much in common with Random House: a great breadth of books, fantastic authors, a rich tradition and history, and very, very talented people."
