A Point Well Taken
-- 7/20/98
Patricia Cornwell takes the lead spot on the national charts with her ninth Kay Scarpetta novel, Point of Origin, which was launched on July 6 with a one-million-copy first printing. Good Morning America recommended the Putnam title in its recent summer reading roundup, and Cornwell's many media interviews have included Today and CNN's Showbiz Today. The author is also enjoying the lead mass market spot on PW's list with Unnatural Exposure, which was published by Berkley on June 9 and has two million copies in print. Cornwell is the only woman in the U.S. to have been awarded England's Gold Dagger, considered to be the world's most prestigious crime-writing honor.
