Byron Preiss Multimedia Company, which has yet to turn a profit, has announced that company founder Byron Preiss was named chairman of the company at a special meeting held earlier this month. James Dellomo, BPMC's chief financial officer, was named acting president and CEO at the same meeting.

In addition, the board of directors was reconfigured, with two longtime members, Roger Cooper and Matthew Shapiro, resigning. They were replaced by Edward Fitzpatrick, an investment banker with London-based Vengua Capital Markets, and Mark Palestine, a BPMC shareholder.

As chairman, Preiss will focus on strategic planning for the company, including potential mergers and acquisitions. BPMC has made a number of purchases in recent years, including Dolphin Inc. and Multi Dimensional Communications.
