Judy Quinn, who served as Publishers Weekly's Book News editor from 1996 to 1998, has returned to the magazine as a senior writer. Most recently, Quinn served a four-month stint as a media reporter for PW sister publication Variety.

In her new position, Quinn will write features for both PW and its online publication, PW Daily for Booksellers. A primary focus will be to highlight books that are working well in the marketplace, beyond the obvious bestsellers.

"Recently, several titles seem to have come from nowhere to become large and lasting successes. With this new beat, we will identify such titles as they begin to move," said PW editor-in-chief Nora Rawlinson. "Our goal is to help booksellers get the maximum sales out of such titles by identifying them early on. Judy will be looking at books that are getting enthusiastic media coverage, that are selling well regionally, are making news or are getting a boost from current events. We are initiating this coverage in our e-mail newsletter, PW Daily, and will soon add it to the print magazine. We also plan to make the information available on our Web site."

Please send information on titles that are going back to press, upcoming media coverage, instant books or other new titles added to seasonal lists, plus relevant sales information, to Judy Quinn, at (212) 463-6769; fax (212) 463-6631; email jquinn@cahners.com.
