NuvoMedia, which has marketed Rocket eBooks aggressively to the adult trade, has partnered with eCampus.com, the online venture spun off from Wallace's College Bookstores, in a deal that will allow eCampus to sell hundreds of Rocket editions.

Despite the relatively small size of the Rocket screen, said an eCampus spokesperson, there's an "enormous amount of [college] content that's easily adaptable." Among the features that eCampus will offer is real-time credit card authorization, enabling students to order and download books immediately. Rocket editions will be discounted 20% off list price.

Commenting on the partnership, eCampus president and CEO Steve Stevens said, "We think it is important to make books available in every possible format."

eCampus is the second large retailer to partner with Nuvo. Barnes & Noble has a major agreement with the Silicon Valley start-up, although textbooks.com, the e-retailer affiliated with B&N College Stores, does not currently offer eBook editions.
