Changes at Barber Agency
-- 1/10/00

After 25 years in business under the name of its founder, the Virginia Barber Literary Agency will add a new partner and change its name. Effective immediately, Barber's longtime associate Jennifer Rudolph Walsh will become a full partner and the firm's name will become The Writers Shop.

Walsh joined Barber 12 years ago just out of college. "She sells bigger and better than anyone," said Barber of her new partner, "and she's an author's advocate to the bone. I look forward to sharing the work of the agency equally with her." The Writers Shop currently represents such authors as Bliss Broyard, Ethan Hawke, Peter Mayle, Alice Munro, Anita Shreve and Anne Rivers Siddons.
