Penguin Putnam Books for Young Readers has announced that Gina Maolucci has been hired as executive director of marketing and marketing design, effectively replacing Angus Killick, who left the company last month. Over the past 13 years, Maolucci has held children's marketing positions at a number of publishers—including Holt, HarperCollins and Hyperion—as well as doing marketing consulting, most recently for Penguin Putnam. She will report to Mariann Donato, v-p of sales and marketing for the Young Readers division.

In related news, Jessica Levison Giat has joined the company as U.S. director of marketing, consumer products. She will oversee marketing and promotional activities for four brands: Peter Rabbit, Spot, Froggy and Mad Libs, and will report to division president Doug Whiteman. Giat comes from the children's entertainment and Internet industries.
