Perseus Publishing in Cambridge, Mass., launched New Perspectives in Organizational Learning, Performance, and Change, a professional book series edited by author and human resource development professor Jerry Gilley, late last month.

The first three releases are Gilley's Philosophy and Practice of Organizational Learning, Performance, and Change (co-written with Peter Dean and Laura Bierema) and The Manager As Change Agent (co-written with Scott A. Quatro et al.), as well as Richard A. Swanson's Assessing the Financial Benefits of Human Resource Development.

"This series has been in the works for a couple years," said Perseus executive editor Nick Philipson. "When I came to what was then Addison-Wesley five years ago, I inherited some professional-level management books. As we matured into Perseus, Jerry's interest in professional books meshed with Perseus's interest in complementing its trade program. Our plan is to have five to eight professional books releasing every year. Part of our strategy is to have critical mass, but not super-saturation."
