A fund-raiser at which publishing folk can make a contribution to the disaster relief effort has been organized by Thomas Dunne, who has his own imprint at St. Martin's Press, in collaboration with agents Barbara Lowenstein and Madeleine Morel. The event has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, the two-week anniversary of the World Trade Center attack.

It will be in a space provided by the charitable group Hospital Audiences Inc. at 88 Crosby St. (between Prince and Spring Streets in SoHo), third floor, from 6—8 p.m. There will be a cash bar (most of the proceeds for charity), and representatives of three major charities— the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, the New York Times 9/11 Neediest Fund and the N.Y. Firefighters Disaster Relief Fund—will be on hand to accept contributions. Dunne noted that companies offering matching funds can be accommodated, too.

All members of the book business—agents, booksellers, editors, authors, printers—are invited, and those unable to attend but still anxious to help can send contributions, made out to one of the above funds, and marked with a company name, c/o Thomas Dunne, St. Martin's Press, 175 Fifth Ave., New York, N.Y. 10010.
