T.C. Boyle The next novel by prolific short story writer and novelist T.C. Boyle, just purchased by Viking senior editor Paul Slovak, the author's longtime publisher, is set in Alaska, where a group of naive, idealistic 1970s California hippies try to live self-sufficiently in the remote wilderness. According to Slovak, who bought North American rights to Drop City from agent Georges Borchardt, it's one of the author's "strongest yet--a richly rewarding character study full of adventure and surprising twists." He aims to publish in February 2003.
